PGH Beegone Crawley: See how they’re getting on…

Starting a new business can be a daunting task and statistics relating to failure rates of new businesses does little to boost one’s confidence. However, according to the British Franchise Association’s 2018 NatWest Franchise Survey, 93% of franchise businesses are claiming profitability and less than 1% of franchisors fail. This proves that partnering with existing successful brands by buying into franchise businesses can be a great route to ensure success.

It is for this reason that Glen and Cathy Campbell have decided to open their own PGH Beegone franchise business. PGH Beegone is thrilled to have this formidable husband and wife franchise team on board who are sure to do well.

Cathy is originally from South Africa and has a background as a legal secretary. Glen had extensive experience running his own business as a farrier in Cape Town, South Africa. They have been married for two and a half years after Glen met Cathy on a trip to the UK to see Wimbledon.

When Glen moved to the UK, he started looking for a business opportunity that did not keep him behind a desk all day and the PGH Beegone pest control and live honeybee removal franchise business caught his eye. With his love for the environment, saving bees and outdoors it was an easy decision to make. Cathy is his ideal business partner with her strength in administration and being super organised. This partnership follows on from David Hasler who is now operating his successful PGH Beegone franchise business in its second year and Locky Deeming from Birmingham has launched PGH Beegone Solihull Redditch early this year as well as Matt from Bath and Bristol and Mark from Essex. There is so much potential in the pest control industry which as a whole generates revenues of £572m and is currently growing at an annual rate of 12.1% with further growth predicted over the next five years.

The core business brands which combine to form the franchise offering (PGH Pest Prevention and Beegone Live Bee Removal) were started in 2008 by Peter Higgs when he identified a need for safe and ethical extraction of live honeybees from hard-to reach areas such as wall cavities and chimneys – that’s what PGH Beegone specialises in, solving pest problems others can’t. Peter even got to show honeybees saved by Beegone to HRH The Queen back in 2016.
